Privacy policy

Last updated: October 24, 2026

Speeches is operated by Abstract Laboratories LLC (Abstract Labs). This policy describes information used by the Speeches app and getspeeches.com. Contact speeches@abstractlaboratories.com with privacy questions or requests.

You can also contact the app developer at me@ashbhat.com.

Information used to provide the app

  • Account information: when you use Sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple account identifier and, if shared, an email address, which may be an Apple private relay address. We use these to authenticate you and maintain your account.
  • Your library and listening: we store information such as saved speeches, listening progress and activity, and interactions with speeches to provide your library and listening features. Some preferences and cached data are stored on your device.
  • Device and notification information: the app uses installation identifiers. If you permit notifications, an Apple push notification token is registered to deliver them. You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings.
  • Information you provide: support correspondence and, where a feature is available, messages, requests, and other content you submit are used to provide that feature or respond to you.
  • Network information: our hosting and media delivery services process network requests, including IP addresses, to deliver content and operate and protect the service.

Usage analytics

We use Mixpanel to understand app use, including app opens, screens viewed, playback, saves, searches performed, and request success or failure. These events use a pseudonymous installation identifier and may include app version, speech identifier, and device or release context. Pseudonymous does not mean anonymous.

The analytics integration does not send search text, message text, transcripts, names, email addresses, or credentials as event properties. Mixpanel derives approximate city, region, and country from the IP address of the analytics upload. This is not precise GPS location, and the app does not request location permission for it.

AI features, when available

If you use a Copilot or speech-creation feature, your messages, relevant conversation history, and material needed to fulfill the request are processed by our backend and AI service providers, including OpenAI. Conversations and generated results may be stored to provide the feature. Avoid entering sensitive personal information. AI-generated narration and illustrations are not original historical recordings or footage, and AI responses can be inaccurate.

Service providers and shared links

We use service providers for authentication and notifications (Apple), backend and media hosting (Google Cloud), website hosting (Vercel), analytics (Mixpanel), and any available AI features. These providers process information needed for their services. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate.

Anyone who receives a speech-sharing link can open the shared speech page, and messaging services may fetch a preview. Do not treat a share link as a private message. Website requests also load fonts from Google and may load speech media from the credited source.

Retention and your choices

Account and feature records are retained to provide the service until they are removed through the available controls or a verified deletion request. Technical logs, backups, and provider records may have separate retention periods. We do not promise that deleting the app removes server records.

You can sign out, manage notifications in iOS Settings, and contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your information. We may need to verify your identity. Information necessary for security, resolving disputes, or legal obligations may need to be retained. Contact us if you need help with information created without signing in.

Children

Speeches is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and address it.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. If a change requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it as appropriate.
